Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran church
Shepherd's Men's Group
Our men's group strives to serve our Church and our community in any way we can. We work together to take care of the Church property and seek ways we can help our Church better serve our Lord and our community.
Shepherd's Ladies (LWML)
Our women's group focus on various ways to share the love of Christ in our community and throughout the world. They also plan and organize fellowship opportunities for our congregation to help us grow together in our faith and our common mission.
At Shepherd of the Bay we believe that Christ has called us to serve our community. As a congregation we are always looking for opportunities to serve those who live around us in whatever ways we can. We seek to use our time, talents and resources to reach out to those in this area and throughout the world, demonstrating the love of Christ to everyone.
We believe that the family is the basic building block of all society. We desire to be a church where families can grow together in love and service to each other, their church and their community.
Jesus loves the little children....and so do we! We want Shepherd of the Bay to be a place where parents can bring their children with the assurance that they will learn about Christ, enjoy a fun and educational atmosphere and grow in faith and in love for God and for others. We continually seek ways in which we can help families with young children grow together as Christians.
We also are a member of the Baldwin County Lutheran School Association supporting Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Elberta. Good Shepherd offers quality Christ centered education for children in pre-K through kindergarten.
We always want to empower our young people to grow in faith and discover their place and purpose in Christ's Church. We actively support the ministry of Camp Dixie which is a wonderful resource for Children's and youth activities with many camps and programs for our young people.
At Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church we recognize the need for friendship and fellowship within our Church family. To help us grow in our relationships with each other, we offer various opportunities for fun and fellowship throughout the year. Movie nights, game nights, congregational dinners and other activities bring us together for times of fun and fellowship. Everyone is always invited and guests are always welcomeType your paragraph here.
congregation of faith
Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church exists to reach out with God’s love in Jesus Christ, through word and action, to each other, our community and the world.
To this end, we reach out to each other, by sharing time together in worship, prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Our goal is that everyone who spends time with us will hear the truth of God’s word faithfully proclaimed, and will feel welcome, encouraged and loved. For Jesus said: “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35)
We reach out to the community in which we live by being a part of the lives of our neighbors in order to demonstrate by our actions, God’s love for all people and to share with our words, the good news of Jesus Christ and the hope of heaven secured for us by his death and resurrection. “We are not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)
We reach out to the world through our membership in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod and by praying for and financially supporting people and organizations who seek to share God’s love in Jesus Christ with those throughout our country and our world. Jesus revealed our mission by saying “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
